In August 2020, smack dab in the middle of a global pandemic, my skeptical family and I relocated from California to Israel.

“Why are you moving?” People asked for the year or so before the departure. And strangely, I never knew exactly what to say. This blog is part scrapbook, part journal, and part forum to work out some answers to that seemingly simple question amongst the safety and humor of family and friends.

Alternately wry, poignant, and inspiring, I hope to bring loved ones some respite from the bewildering chaos of 2020 and the doldrums of sheltering more or less in place. Read on….
